Evenground

Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

Evenground is a non-clinical mental wellness application designed to help users reflect on their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. This Privacy Policy outlines how information is stored, used and handled when you use the Evenground application or visit its website.

1Overview

Evenground is designed with user privacy as a priority.

  • No account creation or registration is required to use the app.
  • Personal content, including journal entries, mood check-ins and garden progress, is stored locally on your device.
  • The app does not use analytics or advertising software.
  • The app does not transmit personal content or usage data. Its Feedback feature opens the support form on the Evenground website in your browser. Any information submitted through that form is sent directly from your browser, not from the app.
  • The current version of the app does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions and does not process payments.

2Information Stored on Your Device

Evenground stores certain information locally on your device to support its features and maintain your progress. This may include:

  • Journal entries, letters, brain dumps and other written content.
  • Mood check-ins and daily records.
  • Saved or customized coping strategies and self-care activities.
  • Garden progress, levels, unlocked themes and scenery.
  • App preferences, including selected themes and layout settings.

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to Evenground or third parties. Evenground does not maintain a separate copy of your personal content.

Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored information. Once removed, this information cannot be recovered by Evenground.

Device Backups

Information stored by Evenground may be included in backups created by your device, such as iCloud backups or backups to a computer. These backups are managed by your device and its associated backup services, rather than by Evenground, and are subject to the respective providers’ privacy policies and terms.

You can exclude Evenground’s information from device backups through your device’s backup settings. However, doing so may prevent your locally stored information, including journal entries and progress, from being transferred when you move to a new device.

3Information Not Collected

Evenground does not require personally identifying information, account credentials or user profiles.

The app does not collect analytics or track how users interact with its features. It does not contain advertising software or advertising-related tracking technologies.

The app does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, photo library or contacts. Notification permission is requested only when you enable the daily thought feature.

Your personal content is not transmitted outside your device by the app. Evenground does not receive or maintain copies of your journal entries, mood check-ins, garden progress or other locally stored information. Device backups are addressed separately in Section 2.

4Feedback

The Feedback feature within the app does not collect or transmit information directly. Instead, it opens the Evenground support form in your device’s browser.

Submitting the form involves providing your message and, optionally, your email address. Providing an email address is voluntary and is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Feedback submissions do not include journal entries, mood check-ins, garden progress or other information stored within the app.

Storage and Retention

Feedback submissions are sent to a database hosted by Cloudflare. As Cloudflare operates a global infrastructure, submitted information may be stored and processed outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to applicable local laws.

Submissions are retained for as long as necessary to address the inquiry or issue raised. To request the deletion of a submission, please contact the email address listed in Section 12 and provide an approximate submission date.

Submission Limits

To prevent misuse of the support form, a daily submission limit is implemented. Enforcing this limit requires the temporary storage of a salted, one-way hash of the submitting device’s network address, alongside a submission count.

This information is stored separately from feedback messages, is not linked to individual submissions and is automatically deleted the following day.

5Crisis Support

The Crisis Support section of Evenground provides links to external crisis support services and helplines.

Selecting a phone number or messaging option opens the relevant application on your device. Any subsequent communication takes place directly between you and the external service.

Evenground does not place calls, record which support links you select or receive information about your interactions with these services.

6Children’s Privacy

Evenground is not intended for children under the age of 13. Evenground does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7Website Privacy

The Evenground website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.

The website does not collect personal information through its general pages. The only exception is the support page, which contains a feedback form.

Information submitted through this form, including how it is processed, stored and retained, is described in Section 4 of this policy.

8Your Privacy Choices

You have control over the information you choose to provide to Evenground.

  • Feedback: You can choose whether to submit feedback and whether to include your email address.
  • Local Information: You can remove information stored by the app by uninstalling Evenground. Since no separate copy is maintained by Evenground, this information cannot be recovered by us.
  • Feedback Requests: You may request access to feedback submissions associated with you, correction of an email address you have provided, or deletion of a submission by contacting the email address listed in Section 12.

Because feedback submissions are not associated with user accounts or names, providing an approximate submission date and a description of the message will help identify the relevant submission.

Information provided when making a privacy request will be used only to identify and address that request, where possible.

9Security

Evenground takes reasonable measures to protect information handled through the app and website.

Information stored by the app remains within its designated storage area on your device, which is isolated from other applications by the device’s operating system. The security of this information depends on your device’s security features, including its passcode and encryption settings.

Feedback submissions are transmitted through an encrypted connection and stored in a database accessible through the developer’s Cloudflare account, which is protected by two-factor authentication.

Although reasonable safeguards are maintained, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are encouraged to protect their devices with a secure passcode and keep their operating systems up to date.

10Privacy Incidents

In the event of a confirmed unauthorized access to feedback submissions, Evenground will investigate the incident, assess the information affected and take appropriate steps to address the cause.

Where contact information has been provided and an individual’s information has been affected, reasonable efforts will be made to notify that individual. Any reporting obligations to applicable privacy regulators will be fulfilled as required by law.

Because personal app content is stored exclusively on users’ devices and no separate copies are maintained by Evenground, a security incident involving Evenground’s systems would not expose locally stored journal entries, mood check-ins or garden progress.

11Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to Evenground’s features, operations or privacy practices.

The revision date at the top of this document will be updated whenever changes are made. Significant changes may also be communicated through the app’s release notes.

Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically to remain informed about how their information is handled.
